In my native Gaspésie, from my earliest youth, my own sensibility was intimately mixed with the artistic influences of the Mi'kmaq, Acadians, English, and my French ancestors, without forgetting also our religious communities. The raw beauty of nature, with the sea, the shells and the sand, without forgetting the hills covered with forests, also strongly inspired my work of creation and imagination.
Biography
In my native Gaspésie, from my earliest youth, my own sensibility was intimately mixed with the artistic influences of the Mi'kmaq, Acadians, English, and my French ancestors, without forgetting also our religious communities. The raw beauty of nature, with the sea, the shells and the sand, without forgetting the hills covered with forests, also strongly inspired my work of creation and imagination.
I grew up on a family farm, and my hands, from an early age, shaped clay, but also wood, metal etc. etc
Today, I live and work on the edge of the river, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, where my studio and my gallery are located.
Impulse and instinct are the engines of my work, which undergoes no constraint or hindrance! No limit to imagination, expression, and creation! My imagination is always stimulated by the discovery of objects that have suffered the pangs of age and time. My environmental sensitivity and my passion allow me, thanks to clay, my favorite medium, to transform them and bring them to express the emotion of the moment.
Humbly influenced by Amadeo Modigliani, Bruno Catalano, Jean-Pierre Larocque, and Alberto Giacometti, my sculptures become characters, often female, whose physiognomy and expression testify to their moods and their interiority. Each sculpture is unique and each visitor can feel a different and very personal emotion.
