In the eye of Miss Rey

In Miss Rey's Eye, The Gallery Becomes a Film Set!

An initiative of Matthew Whitelaw in collaboration with TVHR and La Galerie de Miss Rey.

Episode 1: Our EXCLUSIVE with Yves Doré and the Le Renfort Foundation

In January 2025, I received a call from Matthew Whitelaw. Matthew works as a cameraman for various community television stations. We have already collaborated on projects such as: Vu and Reconnu from THRS.

But this time, Matthew wanted to propose a collaboration with me on his own idea: a show that would put artists in the spotlight. The show will be filmed at Miss Rey's Gallery! So, La Galerie becomes a film set with Miss Rey as the host.

How can you say no to such a proposal?

With the agreement of its boss Richard Racicot, the THVR channel will broadcast the series. Yes, a series of emissions!

We have artist interviews, discussions with local organizations, and a “What’s on” segment planned for the current month. Each episode promises to offer a unique and enriching perspective on the local arts scene, allowing viewers to discover new talent and immerse themselves in the culture of our community. It’s a unique opportunity to showcase the creativity that flourishes around us and celebrate those who are its pillars.

Our guests for the PRIMEUR, broadcast throughout the month of March 2025, the painter Yves Doré and Sylvie Gamache, DG and Louise Rousseau, Events and Communications Coordinator of the Fondation le Renfort, NPO of the South Shore of Montreal.

Good viewing! ♥

Episode 2: Claude Lépine, Isabelle Tellier, painters and Pascale Bouchard, VP of AAPARS

Claude Lépine and Isabelle Tellier, painters and members of AAPARS, meet with Miss Rey to discuss their creations. Both won first prize in their respective sections (Claude for abstract art and Isabelle for figurative art) of the 2024 AAPARS fall competition.

As for Pascale, the exhibition director and VP of the AAPARS association, we learn about encaustic.
