For Rim's, creating is first and foremost about seeking to evoke an emotion.
His works often originate in darkness. Black becomes a stage setting from which characters, faces, animals, and forms gradually emerge. Light guides the viewer's gaze, revealing certain elements and deliberately leaving others to the imagination.
At the boundary between figurative and abstract art, Rim's uses vibrant colors, contrasts, waves, spirals, and movement to create a tension between what is immediately recognizable and what remains open to interpretation. The image does not seek to impose a story; it suggests one.
Her approach combines digital creation and pictorial intervention. The work is printed on canvas and then enhanced by hand with acrylic paint. This encounter between two mediums allows her to retain the freedom of digital creation while bringing back into the artwork the materiality, gesture, and unpredictability of painting.
But technique remains at the service of emotion. Rim's wants the viewer to stop, feel something, and be able to project a part of their own story into the work.

Biography
Rémy Poirier, known by the pseudonym Rim's, is a hybrid artist based in Longueuil, Quebec. Before dedicating himself fully to the visual arts, he spent several decades in the performing arts, working successively as an actor, comedian, director and drama teacher.
His artistic journey has led him to develop a visual arts practice that blends digital creation and acrylic painting. His works were presented at several symposiums and art events in Quebec between 2023 and 2026.
In 2024, Rim's was a semi-finalist in a competition linked to the Affordable Art Fair in New York. In 2025, he participated in a group exhibition at the Perkins Gallery in Melbourne, Quebec, following a selection made by the internationally renowned painter Gerardo Labarca. That same year, he received an Entrepreneur of the Year award in a Quebec competition and was also selected by a jury for the AAPARS exhibition-competition. He currently serves on the board of directors of La Route des Arts du Richelieu.
