To satisfy his thirst for creativity, Manon Merchant To complete her drive to share her passion, she completed another B.A. in teaching and for twelve years, owned, operated and taught at her art school: "Le Nouvel Art". She offered classes during the evening to allow her to continue painting during the day.

A trip to the Canadian Rockies created a major shift in Marchand's career as an artist. She discovered mountain hiking which totally changed her perspective as a landscape artist.

Manon Marchand has received many honorable mentions and distinctions throughout her career . She received the Armand Vaillancourt award at "Rencontre des Arts St-Jean-sur-Richelieu" and obtained recognition from Mondial Art Academia with a piece that earned honorable mention. The artist now makes her living solely by her art and is represented by three excellent galleries across Quebec. She proudly represents her theme of mountain hikers who journey in hope of finding accomplishment through their pathways. Marchand is a member with professional status of: IAF, RAAV, MAA. These three associations have recognized her work through the eyes of her peers.
